Finland.

We are back from the most amazing trip to Finland, Sweden and Estonia. We were there 17 days and it was the perfect amount of time. I have lots of family in Finland (3 aunts, 2 uncles and lots of cousins) so we spent as much time as we could with them, but also made sure to explore the city and countryside of Finland. We  took an overnight cruise to Stockholm, Sweden and spent 2 days and 1 night there. We also took a one day trip to Tallinn, Estonia by boat.

Not only did I brush up on my Finnish, but we ate delicious home-cooked meals, took lots of Sauna, swam in the lake and A swam in the Baltic Sea, picked wild strawberries and blueberries, picked wild flower bouquets, took the tram around the city, walked everywhere, explored every nook and cranny, visited with family, drank LOTS of coffee, ate ice cream and the sweetest strawberries, ate smoked reindeer and wild boar, drank good beer and longdrink, thought about the important things in life, had a painting lesson by my aunt, got bit by mosquitoes, visited my grandparents' grave, showed A where we spent our summers at the cottage, rode bikes, laughed, took lots of pictures (2000+), ate Finnish salmon, visited market squares and food halls, and the list goes on, but importantly, A finally got to experience life as a Finn and meet my relatives and see where I spent my summers as a kid. It is now fair to say he now knows the whole me. It was the best vacation.

Warning: The next couple of posts will be dedicated to the trip.

Day 1 in Helsinki.
