We took a
Silja Cruise over to Stockholm for 2 days and 1 night. The cruise itself is very neat and is just a quick overnight trip. We had cabin with a view of the Baltic Sea to and from Sweden and it was fantastic. I highly recommend taking the Silja cruise if you are visiting Helsinki, Stockholm, Turku or Tallinn! The city of Stockholm is beautiful and royal. It's the Paris of Scandinavia! A very walkable city with lots to see and do. At first we took the subway to different neighborhoods, but soon found that walking everywhere is more fun and a better way to see the city. We enjoyed going to the Vasa museum and the National Museum of Fine Art, walking up and down the cobblestone streets in Gamla Stan, the old town, visiting the "hipster" neighborhood of Sodermalm, drinking a bottle of wine in our hotel room before dinner, eating at the old Ostermalm food hall, commenting on all the "Svens" and much more. We had a fabulous, bib gourmand awarded dinner at Pubologi in Gamla Stan. I also highly recommend the
Mornington Hotel in the Ostermalm neighborhood. We can't wait to return to Stockholm one day!
