chicago gem: thai food.

Bored of pad Thai, spring rolls and lard nar? You know, the usual?

Then head to Sticky Rice for an authentic Northern Thai cuisine experience. Sticky Rice is seriously the best Thai restaurant in Chicago. Well, one out of like 5. You will not be disappointed. The Hungry Hound, Steve Dolinsky, also swears by this place.

The kao soi (kow soy) is the best in the city and something you can't find at every Thai restaurant. It's a spicy, coconut milk, chicken soup with boiled and crispy noodles. This is something you will crave after having it once.

The northern Thai sausage is also one of my favorites that comes with a side of cabbage, cilantro and minced ginger.

Other must tries are the gang hung lay and pork larb. End your meal with a sweet khao neaw ma-muang (sticky rice with mango).

And like most other Thai restaurants in Chicago, this place is BYOB! So, whether you're a Chicago native, new to Chicago or visiting - check this place out.

Other great Thai restaurants: Aroy Thai, Spoon Thai, and Thai Pastry.

Thank me later.
