Holy cow. We went to the Punch Brothers concert last night at the Park West in Chicago. Their biggest sold out event, ever! The show was phenomenal. I mean, talk about real musicianship. You might have seen them on Jay Leno, Conan or Letterman in the past few years or seen them open up for Paul Simon this past fall. Chris Thile was also in the band called Nickel Creek and more recently collaborated with Edgar Meyer, Stuart Duncan and Yo-Yo Ma on the Goat Rodeo Sessions. (It will blow your mind, just take a listen.) Aoife O'Donovan, previously with Crooked Still, opened up for the Punch Brothers and sang a few songs with them. Her voice is heavenly. And I love her name.
